Lunch

Went to Falafel King for lunch with Chloe her dad and Elisabeth. Think the daughter already really wants to move on to grown up food!

Snowy mountains

Since Autumns in the air, here's a snow picture. I wanted to make a place for some of Iain's animals to live in.

Some generated images

After spending a few days playing around with pythons turtle module I've got some code that generates some nice images. Tim has started playing with the module, too, and has made some great images looking like coffee stains. Mike is also starting to play with the code and made a nice image of tail recursion. I think the code will go up on to github once we've got it in a sharable state (there's quite a lot of brain dump code in there at the moment) so you can fork and play with it if you like...

Conserved quantities

My friend Tim and I are going to collaborate on some little projects to make generative sound/graphics programs.

The first experiments I've done have used the python turtle module. I'd been saying to Chloe that it'd be great to have a BBC micro B and a turtle to control and lo it's already in the python library! (I wonder if any one has used it to control an arduino based turtle?) The resulting test code has produced some nice patterns, that I share below. I reckon we'll put up the code on github or similar as we progress, but at the moment it's not that exciting :)

Moving mum in: the kitchen table

(download)

Kitchen is nearly done. Only one trip to ikea to get the new table and chairs. Her Granddads chair (as sat in by Rob Plant of Led Zep fame) suits it very nicely.

Slightly ambient results of an experiment making music with circadian rhythms/primes. This was sort of inspired by this blog post.
